1. Who we are

BookB is operated by Mando Systems Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17168657) with its registered office at 10 Pilgrims Walk, Worthing BN13 1RJ, United Kingdom. You can contact us at admin@bookb.co.uk. These terms form the agreement between you and us when you use bookb.co.uk.

2. What BookB is

BookB is a small digital bookshop. We publish original books that are written by artificial intelligence and reviewed by a person before publication — we state that openly on every book page and inside every book, rather than hiding it behind a pen name. You buy individual titles outright. Each book page shows the price and what you get for it — the full chapter list, the approximate page count of the PDF where we have measured it, and the opening chapter free to read before you decide.

3. Accounts: when you need one, and when you do not

Most buyers never make an account, and nothing on this site asks you to make one before you can buy. There are three cases, and only one of them involves a password.

• Buying a single book — no account. You give an email address at checkout and pay. We email you a receipt with the complete book attached as a PDF, and that receipt also contains a private link to your own purchase page, where the book can be downloaded again. The link carries a long random token, and that token is the key to the purchase: treat it as private, because anyone who has the link can download the book. There is no password, and nothing to sign in to.
• Membership — an account, if and when it opens. Membership across the whole library is not on sale at the moment (section 4). If we open it, it will need an account with a password, because it is access that continues over time rather than a single file you have been sent.
• The online library — optional, and only after you have bought. If you would rather read in the browser than in the PDF, and have the site remember where you got to, you can set a password afterwards for the address you bought with. You ask for it from your purchase page and we email you the link; you cannot set the password directly on that page. We do it that way deliberately: paying for a book proves that you have a card, not that the mailbox you typed belongs to you, so only someone who can open that inbox should be able to take over the account. The link we send is valid for 14 days, and you can ask for a new one.

If you do end up with an account, please give us accurate details, keep the password to yourself, and use the account for your own personal reading. You are responsible for what happens under your login. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.

4. Membership

Membership — one payment covering everything in the library — is not on sale, and we are not taking membership payments. The catalogue is new and small, and we are not willing to sell continuing access to it until there is enough in it to be worth the money and enough operating history behind it to know we can keep publishing.

If we do open membership, its price and terms will be shown at the point of purchase, and this is what they will say: it needs an account; it renews automatically each month or year, as chosen, until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the period you have already paid for; there is no cancellation fee; and if a renewal payment cannot be collected, access ends. Library-wide access already granted to anyone under an earlier arrangement continues on the terms it was bought under, and nothing here withdraws it.

5. What you get when you buy a book

Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown in full before you pay. As soon as your payment clears:

• the complete book is emailed to you as a PDF attachment. That file is yours to keep, on your own devices, and it does not depend on us or on this website continuing to exist;
• the same email carries the private link to your purchase page, where you can download the PDF again. That link does not expire — we do not put a time limit on it, and we do not withdraw it while your purchase stands. Downloads through it are rate-limited only to stop automated abuse, never to ration your own copy;
• if you set a password (section 3), the book also appears in an online library where you can read it in the browser and the site keeps your place as you read.

We should be straight about the one thing we cannot promise indefinitely. The purchase page and the online reader are parts of a website, and no website is guaranteed to run forever; if we ever have to close it, we will give reasonable notice by email or on the site. That is precisely why the book is sent to you as a file rather than only kept behind a login — the copy in your inbox is the one that does not depend on us.

A refund is the one case that reverses this. If we refund a purchase, the download link stops working and the licence in section 6 ends, because you have your money back instead. Our Refund Policy explains when that happens.

6. Your licence to the books

Buying a book buys you a copy and the right to read it. It does not transfer the copyright, which stays with Mando Systems Ltd. The licence we grant you is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable: read the book, keep the file, print a copy for your own use, and quote briefly from it with attribution. You must not resell it, share the file or your private link publicly, republish it, scrape or bulk-download the site, or use our books to train machine-learning systems. Each PDF carries the buyer's name and email address on its imprint page for exactly that reason.

7. AI-generated content

Our books are written by AI and reviewed by a person before publication. We work to make them genuinely useful and accurate, but they are general-interest publications: nothing on BookB is professional advice, and you should not rely on any book as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in medicine, law, finance or any other regulated field. Statements about the world are written as at the publication date shown in the book, and anything time-sensitive may have moved on since.

8. Prices and tax

Prices are in pounds sterling and include any tax due, so the figure shown at checkout is the figure you pay. Ebooks are zero-rated for UK VAT, which is why a book receipt carries no VAT line. Tax treatment is recorded against each product rather than assumed for the shop as a whole, because it is not the same for everything we might publish — an online course or an audio edition is standard-rated rather than zero-rated. Where a product is taxed differently, the price you are shown still includes that tax.

9. Your statutory rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If content is faulty, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and where that is not possible, to a price reduction which can be up to the full price. Nothing in these terms removes or limits your statutory rights. Cancellation and refund rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — including the consent to immediate supply that you give at checkout — are set out in our Refund Policy.

10. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms, and we are not liable for business losses — BookB is a consumer service for private use.

11. Changes to the service and these terms

We may update the service and these terms from time to time. If we make a material change to the terms, we will give reasonable notice by email or on the site. If you keep using BookB after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply. A change to these terms never removes access you have already paid for.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
